A special letter from President Peter A. Lillback introducing Professor R. Kent Hughes

Dear Friends,

It is becoming rare to find pastors who preach gospel truth in today’s world. We have entered an age when neither the public square, nor even local congregations, may clearly hear the whole counsel of God. But I am confident that the Lord will continue to provide for his people.

I want to give you a personal opportunity right now to address our great need for faithful preachers.

This mission has attracted a faculty with more than two centuries of collective ministry experience.

Westminster’s principle task for nearly a century has been to send out the most qualified specialists in the Bible to preach the good news. This mission has attracted a faculty with more than two centuries of collective ministry experience. Our professors draw on years of church involvement as they teach sound biblical doctrine to future kingdom workers.

This year we welcome the Reverend Dr. R. Kent Hughes as a professor of practical theology. With forty years of pastoral service, Dr. Hughes adds a wealth of experience to those training here. His extensive knowledge of ministry will help guide new graduates in their future callings.

You can invest today in the work of this ministry-focused faculty at Westminster. Please join with us as we seek to bring the news of Jesus Christ to every corner of the world. Thank you for your support.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Peter A. Lillback

P.S. – How beautiful indeed are the feet of those who preach the good news! (Romans 10:15) Dr. Hughes and the rest of our faculty are hard at work preparing these “feet” for service. Will you invest in this beautiful mission?

Kent Hughes

Dr. Hughes (DMin, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is professor of practical theology at WTS.
